Gerald Krovatin just doesn’t care. He’s one of New Jersey’s A-list lawyers. He’s married to Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Anna Quindlen. And in recent times he has been publicly critical of political heavyweights such as Jon Corzine, Chris Christie and Dick Codey.

But Krovatin just doesn’t care. About making enemies. About repercussions. About ticking
people off. He has made a career out of taking on The Man and is a rarity in the incestuous and clubby world of New Jersey politics and law. At 57, he sees no reason to change now.

“People can read him as authentic a mile away and that’s not a pose,” Quindlen said one recent evening at the couple’s home on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. “He gives a fair shot to the people in the system that an astonishing number of people don’t think deserve a fair shot.”
