Ernesto Cerimele is an experienced litigation associate, focusing his practice on criminal defense and complex civil matters. Mr. Cerimele regularly appears in Federal, State, and Municipal Courts in New Jersey and New York. Throughout his career, Mr. Cerimele has been attorney of record on hundreds of matters for both plaintiffs and defendants.
In the criminal context, Mr. Cerimele has experience ranging from DWI and municipal defense, to white collar federal and state investigations and prosecutions. In the civil context, Mr. Cerimele counsels clients on contract disputes, personal injury, litigation, and regulatory matters. He has experience litigating in the private and public sectors, having represented large electronics and internet companies, boards of education, and police departments.
Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Mr. Cerimele served as the Municipal Prosecutor for the Townships of North Brunswick and East Brunswick New Jersey. In his capacity as prosecutor, he appeared on behalf of the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Cerimele is a graduate of Tulane Law School and Drexel University. While at Tulane Law School, he was active in the fight against environmental crimes occurring in New Orleans and the surrounding community. With the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic, he handled several important matters against large oil companies. Mr. Cerimele also spent a summer serving pro bono as a Law Clerk for the Vice President of Uganda in East Africa.
Mr. Cerimele is a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, New Jersey Association for Justice, Associate of the Federal Bar, and the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey. He is also a proud member of the Scotch Plains Italian American Association.
